Service Dock

Privacy policy

Effective date: October 20, 2026

Service Dock is operated by Marketing For Service LLC (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use the Service Dock web app at app.servicedock.app, the Service Dock mobile app and this website, how we use and share it, how long we keep it and the choices you have.

1. Two roles: your account, and your business’s data

Your account. For the information about you as a user of Service Dock — a business owner or a member of a business’s team — and about visitors of this website, we decide how it is used and are responsible for it.

Your business’s data. Businesses use Service Dock to manage their own customers: names, phone numbers, addresses, orders, calls, texts and emails. That information belongs to the business, which decides how it is used; we process it on the business’s behalf only to provide the service. If you are a customer of a business that uses Service Dock, please contact that business with questions or requests about your information; we will help the business answer them.

2. Information we collect

Account and team information

  • Your name, email address, phone number and password (stored only as a secure hash), or your basic Google profile (name, email) when you sign in with Google.
  • Your company’s name and settings, your role in it, working hours and service areas.
  • Records of sign-ins and active sessions, used to keep your account secure.

Business records you or your team enter

  • Customers, service locations and addresses, orders and schedules, notes and custom fields. Fields a business marks as sensitive (for example door or gate codes) are encrypted.
  • Online bookings submitted through a business’s booking page.

Calls, texts and emails (when a business turns these features on)

  • Call history (numbers, times, duration, who answered), text messages, and emails exchanged with the business’s customers.
  • If the business turns them on: call recordings, live call transcripts, voicemails and their transcriptions, and caller names looked up for unknown numbers. Calls and texts go through the business’s own phone provider account, where recordings and voicemails are stored.

Mobile app and device information

  • A push notification token, the device platform and the app version, so we can send notifications you have not turned off.
  • The microphone, only while you are on a call you placed or answered.
  • Your device’s location, only if your company turns on location sharing for its team and you allow it in the app and in your phone’s settings. While sharing is on, the app sends your location so your company’s owners, admins and dispatchers can see where technicians are on a map and plan routes to nearby customers. You can stop sharing at any time by turning it off in the app or withdrawing the location permission on your phone.
  • The app does not read your contacts.

Technical information

  • IP address, browser or app type and request logs, used for security, troubleshooting and preventing abuse.
  • Cookies and similar technologies on our website and web app, including analytics and advertising tools; see Cookies and similar technologies.

3. How we use information

  • To provide Service Dock: accounts, scheduling, bookings, calls, texts, emails, reminders and notifications.
  • If location sharing is on, to show technicians’ current locations to their company and help plan routes. We do not use location for advertising or sell it.
  • To keep the service secure, prevent fraud and abuse, and fix problems.
  • To send service messages such as sign-in, verification, invitations and important changes.
  • To answer support requests and improve the service.
  • To understand how our website and web app are used, give customers a better experience, and measure and improve our advertising.
  • To comply with the law and enforce our terms.

We do not sell personal information for money, and we never use your business’s customer data — its customers, orders, calls, texts or emails — for analytics or advertising.

4. Text messaging (SMS)

We will not share mobile phone numbers with third parties for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties. Recipients can reply STOP to any text to opt out and HELP for help; see our SMS terms.

5. How information is shared

We share information only as needed to run the service, with service providers that process it for us under contracts and only for that purpose:

  • The business’s own phone provider account — phone calls, text messages, recordings, voicemail, caller names.
  • Sign-in providers — when you choose to sign in with an outside account, such as Google or Apple.
  • Mapping and address providers — address suggestions and maps.
  • Push notification providers — delivering notifications to your phone.
  • Real-time messaging providers — updating the app instantly when something changes.
  • Email providers — sign-in and service emails, and emails a business sends and receives.
  • Security providers — protecting booking pages and the service from bots and abuse.
  • Cloud hosting and database providers — storing and running the service.
  • Analytics and advertising providers — website and web app usage and ad measurement, as described in section 6.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a merger or sale of the business, under confidentiality obligations.

6. Cookies and similar technologies

Our website and web app use cookies, pixels, local storage and similar technologies. Some are needed for them to work; others help us understand how they are used, fix problems, give customers a better experience, and measure and improve our advertising. We load these tools through Google Tag Manager.

  • Essential: keep you signed in, keep the service secure and remember your choices. They cannot be turned off.
  • Analytics and experience: tools such as Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity. We set them to analyze website usage and not to capture the business data shown in the web app.
  • Advertising: tools such as Google Ads measure which ads lead people to sign up and may show our ads to people who visited our website.

These providers may also use the information under their own privacy policies; see how Google uses information from sites and the Microsoft privacy statement.

Your choices:

  • Block or delete cookies in your browser settings; essential features may then stop working.
  • Opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on, and control Google ads personalization in My Ad Center.
  • Opt out of interest-based ads from many companies at optout.aboutads.info.
  • Where the law requires, we ask for consent before using non-essential cookies, and we treat a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser as a request to opt out of targeted advertising. Because there is no common standard for browser “Do Not Track” signals, we do not respond to them.

7. How long we keep information

  • Account information: while your account is active, then deleted as described in our deletion process.
  • Call and text history and customer emails: 12 months.
  • Call recordings, live transcripts and voicemails: 6 months, then also deleted from the phone provider.
  • In-app notifications: 90 days.
  • Analytics and advertising data: no longer than 14 months, under the providers’ retention settings.
  • Shared locations: only as long as needed to show them and plan routes, then deleted.
  • Push notification devices: removed after 90 days without use, at sign-out, or when the token stops working.
  • Other business records: until the business deletes them or closes its account. Backups are overwritten on their regular cycle.

8. Security

Information is encrypted in transit; phone provider credentials and sensitive fields are encrypted at rest. Access depends on each person’s role in a business, and sessions use secure, HTTP-only cookies or short-lived tokens. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

9. Your choices and rights

  • You can view and update your account details in the app.
  • You can turn push notifications off by group in the app or in your phone’s settings.
  • You can stop sharing your location at any time in the app or in your phone’s settings.
  • You can limit analytics and advertising cookies as described in Cookies and similar technologies.
  • You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information, or to delete your account; see Delete your account. Deleting your account does not delete the records of the companies you were a member of; they belong to those companies.
  • If you are a customer of a business that uses Service Dock, send requests about your information to that business (see section 1).
  • Depending on where you live, we will honor your rights as the law requires.

Send requests to [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

10. Children

Service Dock is a business tool for adults and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their personal information.

11. Where information is processed

We and our providers process information in the United States and other countries where they operate, with safeguards required by applicable law.

12. Changes to this policy

We will post changes on this page and update the effective date. For significant changes we will also notify account owners by email or in the app.
